THE MACKIN/DAVIDIAN CASE

 

 

In Selected Messages book three, pages 363-378, the story of a husband and wife ,Bro. and Sis. Mackin's experience relating to fanaticism is recorded. The council that they received from EG White will be used as an example to see whether or not the same condemnation applies to Davidians.

 

The first question to be asked is, should Davidians be involve in the casting out of demons, and what does Inspiration has to say on that subject?

 

“CASTING OUT DEMONS.--R. Makin: The lord has given us power, Sister White, to cast out demons. Many people are possessed with demons.” (3SM p368)

 

“On Casting Out Demons.--You have even supposed that power is given you to cast out devils. Through your influence over the human mind men and women are led to believe that they are possessed of devils, and that the Lord has appointed you as His agents for casting out these evil spirits.       I have been shown that just such phases of error as I was compelled to meet among Advent believers after the passing of the time in 1844, will be repeated in these last days.” {3SM 376.3}

Ellen G. White: "In the future we shall have special tokens of the influence of the Spirit of God--especially at times when our enemies are the strongest against us. The time will come when we shall see some strange things; but just in what way--whether similar to some of the experiences of the disciples after they received the Holy Spirit following the ascension of Christ--I cannot say."  {3SM 369.5}

 

“The work of declaring persons possessed of the devil, and then praying with them and pretending to cast out the evil spirits, is fanaticism which will bring into disrepute any church which sanctions such work…..Such are not the manifestations of the Spirit of God, but of another spirit.” {2SM 46, 47} See 3SM p378 also.

 

A PERSONAL TESTIMONY

 

Some years ago, two ministers, we will identify them as Bro. A, and Bro. M, went to visit Bro. N due to his sickness. In our conversation, Bro. A mention of an experience he encountered while on the missionary field. He stated that the mother of a particular family asked him to perform exorcism on their daughter who they believed to be demon possessed. He continued by saying that as he laid his hand on her, praying for the demon to come out, he felt his body becoming very warm as the demon left her body and came into his. Bro. M at that moment interrupted him by asking the question, “and where did it go after that?” At that moment there was total silence and he did not answer Bro. M. Obviously it went no where other than out of the girl and into Bro. A.

CONFIRMED PROFF

 

Another unnatural behavior was performed at a session in Mountaindale, NY. While three of Waco ministers, Brothers A, M, and W, were sitting in the van on the outside, they notice a member of  the Mountaindale association jumping up and down singing, “I want Bro. Dwight  to dance with me, and I want Bro. Dwight to dance with me," repeatedly. Bro Dwight was a member of Mountaindale association at the time. Bro. A seems to be mesmerized by the drama, and decided to venture over to where the sister was performing. He was advised by both his colleges not to do so. As if out of his control he proceeded to the sister where the most unbelievably thing happened.

The testimony of the two ministers in the van and the Mountaindale brethren stated that they saw Bro. A jumping up and down with the sister saying, I will dance with you, I will dance with you, and then the sister responded, no!! I want Bro. Dwight to dance with me; you (Bro A) will kill me.

 

Ellen G. White: "Some would dance up and down, singing, "Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory." Sometimes I would sit still until they got through, and then I would rise and say: This is not the way the Lord works. He does not make impressions in this way. We must direct the minds of the people to the Word as the foundation of our faith.”  {3SM 372.5}

AN OPEN DEMONSTRATION

 

Another incident of a performance of an exorcism by Bro. A was video taped and shown to the brethren at Waco headquarters. While in California, he demonstrated to another brother how to cast out demons. This satanic illustration was exercised on a sister. (Do you notice a pattern here; all that were involved were females) During the ordeal, the sister cried out and said “there is a demon here from Waco.”)  As the old saying goes, it takes one to know one.

 

I believe it was at a 2006 session at Waco, that Bro. A was rebuked by one of the Spanish brethren during his sermon. His sermon was based on demon possessed.

 

There is no doubt that this brother is attracted to demons, it has become one of his favorite subjects. Should per chance you should cross his path; he becomes very aggressive and lashes out by saying that you are demon possessed. This is a known fact at Waco headquarters.

PERSONAL ATTACKS

.

Some years ago Bro. N was asked by the secretary if he would consider helping out in the print shop seeing that the publishing department was low on literatures. He at that moment called the printing director, Bro. A, and informed him that he would be coming there to volunteer his time in helping to print the Rod literature.

.

Upon arrival, he notices that the atmosphere was very cold towards him. A manual for a press that prints charts was handed to him by Bro. A. At that moment he informed Bro. A that he came there  to print the tracts that were so greatly needed, and not the charts.

.

All this was a plot that was revealed to Bro. N by one of the workers in the print shop. He revealed every thing in detail as to how they were going to handle this situation. Bro. A informed them that Bro. N. is filled with demons and they should not let him touch the printing press.

.

Just recently a young sister in the message, who is working at headquarters, brought to Bro A’s attention the possibility of a copy right infringement. He immediately got irritated and angry as if he was possessed with demons. This was witnessed by Sis. M and a similar behavior were confirmed by Sis. Y.

 

 

“If your will is crossed you are easily irritated, and then you speak and act as though a demon had possession of you. Angels turn from the scene of discord where angry words are exchanged. Many times have you driven the precious, heavenly angels from your family by the indulgence of passion.”  {2T 78.4}

TIME TO CLEANSE THE CAMP

 

Brothers and sisters, I believe we have a very serious problem in our midst, and if this is not resolved quickly, it is going to escalate and manifest it self in a way that will bring shame and disgrace on the movement.

 

I firmly believe that Bro. A is being used by the devil (as an agent) to influence the majority especially in the area of not sending out the Rod literatures and it alone to mother but instead to devise some thing of his own. This is one of Satan’s strategies to continue his knockout blow plan, see WR p33. As long as the Rod is not been heard there is nothing for him to fear.

 

It is my prayer that this association will put a stop to these abominations immediately. We cannot continue to have some one who is attracted to demons continue to represent and lead out in this organization any longer, not if we expect to receive God’s blessings. We all know who is been addressed. No one has the courage to address the issue and to put a stop to it.

Are there any good men who will not be bought or sold, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall, and men that are not sleeping left in Davidia today, if so, then where are they? I hope that I am one, how about you?
